LIB recently welcomed a customer delegation from Egypt to its facility for a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)
of four environmental test chambers designed for household appliance reliability evaluation. The project included two temperature and humidity chambers and two salt spray corrosion chambers. During the on-site acceptance procedure, the Egyptian team conducted a comprehensive inspection of the equipment, including testing performance accuracy, verifying operational functions, checking safety protection systems, and evaluating communication capabilities. These detailed evaluations ensured that each chamber met the required specifications and was fully prepared for reliable long-term testing applications.
The project included two Temperature Humidity Chambers, one Standard Salt Spray Corrosion Chamber, and one Cyclic Salt Spray Corrosion Chamber. Before shipment, the Egyptian team visited LIB’s factory to personally verify the equipment performance, operating functions, safety protection systems, and overall configuration through a detailed acceptance process.
Unlike an Acceptance Report, which is provided when customers complete equipment acceptance remotely based on inspection records and test documents, a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) allows customers to come directly to the manufacturer's facility and check the equipment operation and performance before delivery.
During the FAT process, the Egyptian team carried out a complete inspection of each environmental test chamber one by one. The acceptance procedure covered equipment appearance, mechanical structure, control system operation, test performance, safety functions, and communication features to ensure that every chamber met the required specifications.
For the two Temperature Humidity Chambers, the customer focused on verifying temperature and humidity control
accuracy, heating and cooling performance, airflow uniformity, controller functions, and safety protection systems. The chambers were tested under programmed conditions to confirm stable operation and repeatable environmental simulation capability.

The Cyclic Salt Spray Corrosion Chamberwas inspected separately because it provides a more advanced corrosion
simulation method. Compared with a standard salt spray chamber that exposes samples to continuous salt fog, the cyclic model combines salt spray, humidity, drying, and temperature changes to better simulate complex outdoor environments. During the acceptance process, the customer verified the programmable test sequences, humidity control, drying performance, and cycle transition accuracy. This type of chamber is especially suitable for research and development applications where manufacturers need to evaluate long-term durability under changing environmental conditions.
The difference between the two salt spray chambers is mainly based on testing objectives. The standard salt spray chamber focuses on routine corrosion screening and compliance testing according to standards such as ASTM B117, while the cyclic salt spray chamber provides a more realistic simulation for advanced durability evaluation following cyclic corrosion methods. For basic quality control, continuous salt fog testing is usually sufficient, while cyclic testing is preferred for automotive, marine, coating, and outdoor application research.
