IP6X IP5X Ingress Test Chamber Dust Test Machine

LIB Industry's IP5X/IP6X Dust Test Chamber is engineered to assess the resistance of products and enclosures to airborne dust ingress under controlled laboratory conditions. It is suitable for testing a wide range of products, including automotive components, electrical enclosures, LED lighting, sensors, switches, connectors, communication devices, and industrial equipment.

The equipment generates a uniform and repeatable dust environment to simulate real-world exposure conditions, enabling manufacturers to evaluate sealing effectiveness, operational reliability, and product durability before commercialization.

Designed to meet the requirements of internationally recognized standards including IEC 60529, ISO 20653, DIN 40050-9, IEC 60068-2-68, IEC 60598-1, MIL-STD-810H, ISO 16750-4, LV 124, SAE J575, JIS D0207, and JSS 55555, the system provides accurate IP5X and IP6X ingress protection testing. By recreating dust exposure under specified airflow and test conditions, it helps verify whether enclosures can effectively prevent harmful dust penetration and maintain their intended performance.

The LIB IP5X/IP6X Dust Test Chamber is designed for long-term durability and consistent testing accuracy. The test workspace is fabricated from high-quality SUS304 stainless steel, providing excellent resistance to corrosion and simplifying chamber cleaning after dust exposure tests. The exterior cabinet is manufactured from heavy-duty coated steel, delivering outstanding structural strength for demanding laboratory applications.

Key Features of the IP6X IP5X Ingress Test Chamber Dust Test Machine

1. Precise Dust Ingress Simulation: The chamber creates a controlled dust environment using standardized test dust, enabling accurate verification of enclosure protection levels for IP5X and IP6X requirements. Stable dust concentration helps ensure repeatable and comparable test results.

2. Optimized Airflow Distribution: A specially engineered dust circulation system promotes uniform dust dispersion throughout the chamber. Integrated heating prevents moisture absorption and dust agglomeration, maintaining consistent testing conditions during extended operation.

3. Enhanced Sealing Performance: The chamber door incorporates a reinforced sealing structure to minimize dust leakage during testing. Safety interlocks and secure locking mechanisms help maintain test integrity while protecting operators.

4. Idustrial-Grade Durability: Constructed with corrosion-resistant stainless steel interiors and a rugged steel outer cabinet, the chamber is built for continuous operation in harsh testing environments while reducing maintenance requirements.

5. Intelligent Touchscreen Control: A programmable controller allows users to configure test duration, dust circulation intervals, vacuum cycles, and other parameters with high precision. Multiple test profiles can be saved for efficient repeat testing.

6. Flexible Chamber Configurations: Available in various standard capacities and customizable designs, the system can accommodate everything from small electronic devices to large automotive and industrial components, meeting diverse testing requirements across industries.

Typical Tests

The IP6X IP5X Ingress Test Chamber Dust Test Machine can perform a variety of dust and sand-related tests, including sand and dust exposure testing, sealing integrity evaluation, enclosure integrity testing, dust resistance protection testing, dust ingress protection testing, and blowing sand and dust tests. During typical dust resistance and enclosure tests, the chamber operates with a controlled dust concentration of 2–4 kg/m³ using standardized test dust with a nominal particle size of about 50 μm, while exposure durations commonly range from 8 to 24 hours. For IP5X and IP6X ingress protection testing, longer test cycles of 16 to 99 hours are applied, with optional vacuum levels generally set between –2 kPa and –5 kPa to simulate pressure differentials that may draw dust into enclosures. Blowing sand and dust tests are carried out under controlled airflow conditions at temperatures from ambient up to +50 °C, reproducing harsh outdoor environments such as deserts and industrial sites. Powered sample testing can also be conducted through an internal 16 A dust-proof power outlet, allowing functional performance to be monitored throughout the test. All test conditions are continuously controlled and monitored to ensure stable, repeatable, and reliable results in accordance with IEC, ISO, and automotive standards.

FAQs on the IP6X IP5X Ingress Test Chamber Dust Test Machine

Q1: Can a single chamber perform both IP5X and IP6X dust ingress tests?

A: Yes. The chamber is designed to accommodate both IP5X and IP6X testing procedures. By adjusting parameters such as dust circulation, vacuum conditions, and test duration, users can perform different ingress protection tests within the same equipment.

Q2: Is it possible to power the test specimen during the dust test?

A: Yes. The chamber can be equipped with internal power connections that allow devices under test to remain energized during exposure. This enables functional monitoring and performance verification while the test is in progress.

Q3: Are customized chamber sizes available?

A: Yes. In addition to standard chamber models, customized dimensions and configurations can be provided to accommodate specific product sizes, testing requirements, or laboratory layouts.

Q4: How is dust kept evenly distributed throughout the test chamber?

A: The chamber utilizes a dedicated dust circulation system that continuously moves dust through the testing area. Combined with airflow management and anti-clumping measures, this design helps maintain a uniform dust environment and ensures consistent testing conditions.
