Salt Fog and SO2 Corrosion Chamber

LIB salt fog and SO2 corrosion chamber exposes sample to a series of different environment conditions that combining salt spray with temperature, humidity, SO2 gas, drying, wetting and more. Suitable for testing to standards including; ASTM B117, ISO 9002, IEC60068 and ASTM G85.

The SO₂ gas concentration is monitored in real time, with ±0.1 % FS accuracy, while the chamber supports test durations from 4 up to 21 days, providing reliable data for coatings, metals, plastics, and electronic components.Suitable for testing to standards including; ASTM B117, ISO 9002, IEC60068 , ISO 11997nd ASTM G85.

ASTM G85 Annex 4 (A4) is a corrosion test which introduces SO2 gas directly into the salt spray chamber according to specified cycles. SSC chambers are upgraded to programmable controller and Ethernet access. All models are automated, and can working continuously. various models can meet different test requirements.

Pneumatic seals and double-sealed doors maintain integrity during continuous operation, protecting both the chamber and the laboratory environment.

Comprehensive Safety Features: Equipped with dry-combustion protection, over-temperature and over-current shutdown, water shortage sensors, and a fail-safe electromagnetic door lock, the chamber ensures safe operation under extreme corrosive environments, minimizing risk to personnel and samples.

5. Efficient Salt and Gas Delivery Systems: The adjustable spray tower, quartz nozzles, and brine stirring system maintain uniform salt fog deposition at 1–2 ml/80 cm²·h. The integrated SO₂ exhaust device safely neutralizes emissions, while the centrifugal fan ensures even circulation, guaranteeing consistent exposure across all samples.

Operate Guide of the Salt Fog and SO2 Corrosion Chamber

Before starting, ensure the chamber is installed on a level surface with adequate clearance. Fill the external salt solution tank with prepared brine and verify the water purification system is functional. Use the PID programmable touchscreen controller to select or create the desired test program, set temperature, humidity, SO₂ concentration, and test duration, then start the cycle. Monitor test conditions via the built-in sensors and observation window, and ensure the SO₂ exhaust system is active when the test completes. Always follow safety guidelines, including avoiding flammable or highly corrosive substances, and check that the electromagnetic door lock is engaged before operation.
